Hi, I just acquired a bonsai tree today but I have no idea what kind of tree it may be. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me identify it so I could do some searches on what it might look like in the future.
Thanks,
Megara

:hello: Hey! great to have you here and posting, hope you will continue to do so. Your plant is a verigated schefflera. there are many variations in this plant, as to size, leaf structure, coloration, etc. in nature it can grow to 40'
it is considered a nusience plant in warmer climates where it becomes invasive. it is a strong grower. it has good/bad qualities, leaf dropping, fast growth, ( outgrowing it's pot) disymetric growth. It is an abracola species, commonly called the umbrella tree due to it's leaf structure, a petolie and it's leaves resemble an open umbrella. the abracola is usually not subjected to Bonsai culture due to the above carateristics. it is very difficult to to Bonsai and usually becomes a dissapointment for it's owner.
