Hi Smithy ; Propagation would be rooting from cuttings and germination which I do mostly is by seeds . African violets are propagated using the leaves . Some shrubs and trees can be propagated by young branches . I use aspirin and liquid seaweed to germinate seeds and leaves . I buy nursery trees also . Using this on trees when re-potting will make the root systems take well and protect them from from diseases . You can use this in watering young seedlings also , BUT ONLY EVERY THREE WEEKS . I grow tropicals , herbs , cactus and hybrid plants . TO: make your tree leaves green and healthy use a little SPIRULINA (seaweed) in a spray bottle with warm filtered water . <Use all or wash out , it will be NO GOOD THE NEXT DAY> Rosebud rosebud5548 06-04-2008, 01:27 PM Hi ; I use the word germination because I grow with seeds mostly . But I do use leaves to grow new plants with African Violets and you can propagate with young branches on some shrubs and trees . Also with cactus you dry the stems for 3 to 4 days or as long as it takes to dry the ends good then plant them in good draining soil mix for cactus . This works the same with Desert Rose tree and the Plumeria tree . They both have the same milky sap and need to dry out the same as the cactus ends do . This gets new trees and cactus growing faster . The milky sap is deadly if you have a cut or put your fingers in your mouth . Always use gloves or wash your hands right after making cuttings .
