Hello everyone. I have a Chinese Elm that I rescued from home depot. I bought this tree because I was hoping to save it. The soil was completely soaked and it seems that it has been in this condition for a while. The leaves are all falling off, it doesn't have too many of the small roots and the trunk seems to have mold.
Besides repotting and trying to keep to soil dryer, what else can I do? How do I eliminate the mold? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Steve

Paint the trunk in a weak solution of Simple Green, or lime sulfur. This will kill the mold.
