Hello everybody!

I've wanted to get into Bonsai for about a year and actually received my first tree as a gift.

The Juniper also seems to be forgiving tree to begin with. I have it situated in an area that gives morning sun (east facing) while avoiding the scorching afternoons. From what I have read this seems to be a good spot. Since it's the summer I am watering pretty much every other day as the surface and top bit of soil dries out quickly. I read that Junipers like to almost dry out before watering again. I water in the late afternoon and give the foliage a spray with a bottle to keep it moist in conjunction with the water. Is there anything big I'm missing or doing wrong? I don't think I need to pinch it quite yet. I plan to fertilize in a week.

A few of the bottom most leaves on each branch are a little brown. Is this normal? Too much water.... too little? Too much sun?

The minor brown needles at the base of a branch are normal. If you want, you can rub them off.
