Hi all

My dad recently gave me a bonsai tree (from what Ive read it looks like a jade plant bonsai) that sat in his sandwich shop getting a lot of sun, but unfortunately not getting enough water, and so after a year or so (could be longer I didnt ask) of being neglected it now has barely any leaves on it and is generally looking a bit unfortunate.

Basically Im watering it regularly, waiting till the soil drys out abit and then watering it again, its getting a fair bit of sun as its right next to the window that is facing the direction of the sun, the few leaves it has are green and fairly healthy looking, it also has a few small white flower buds that are kinda blooming, most are in good shape but one or two have turned brown and died.

Any tips on restoring it? How long will it take until its looking a bit more full blooded? Also do I need to repot it at all or is it ok at this stage (remember I dont know how old it is)

Also Ive got a picture but I cant post it until Ive got 15 posts apparantly, anyone care to help me out?

Aww man. Poor thing looks worse than mine. I'm new here too and don't know anything about them either. Hope someone answers your question.

Never let your bonsai go totally dry for extended periods. Water is not enough. you need ot use fertilizer too. I recommend using an organic liquid fertilizer such as a fish emulsion or an organic seaweed fertilizer.
