I bought a bonsai tree at home depot and the bottom of the dish holding the roots has some wire attaching the tree to the dish itself??? What is this wire for and my is it there? Do I need to remove it? Learning how to do all this, and I am trying to get an idea of how to start as a first timer. How and when to fertilize, water and when to replant and repot a bonsai.

The wire is attached to the root to keep it in place after recently repotting.
